Promise appeal

Every child born has promise - but poverty, exploitation and prejudice too often get in the way of this being realised. Please support Promise and help change this!

You can help make your charitable giving more impactful by joining our small but precious community of Promise Givers and providing a regular unrestricted donation. Promise Givers help us plan long-term and respond nimbly to shifting needs on the ground.

Promise gifts let us act the moment a girl is at risk, a child drops out of school, or a family needs urgent support. Project funds can take weeks or months to move - Promise lets us step in today.

Currently priority on which we are focusing include:

• Helping exploited women and girls get back into education or access vocational training and support, enabling them to secure good employment or start their own business.
• Enabling more children with disabilities to access education by training teachers, ensuring access to the required range of learning materials, and providing children with disability aids where needed.
• Helping people in poor and remote areas access the support of medical specialists through video conferencing, enabled by local community health workers trained to support patients to make the most of these opportunities.

Our local partner, Good Shepherd India, has a proven track record of delivering life changing and life-saving interventions at scale. Their work deserves flexible, sustainable funding that allows programmes to continue as long as required, gives the scope to trial new approaches, and enables staff to respond when individuals or families find themselves in crises and in need of support.

You will receive an annual report on the work to which your support has contributed – its impact, the lessons learned, and how this is shaping future plans as well as occasional stories about individuals or families helped - providing you with further insight into how your support is making a difference. Should you get the opportunity to visit India, you will also be more than welcome to visit the projects and to meet those benefitting.

The level of support is totally up to you. Whether you can give £5, £15 or £25 a month – your role in enabling the local project team to deliver change will be hugely appreciated.
